Coat of Arms
The historic Ždiar coat of arms has a church motif and became the official village symbol from 1989. It portrays the biblical scene of Virgin Mary with a halo standing next to St. Elizabeth without a halo and is connected to the village Church of the same name. This scene was used as the village seal until the beginning of the 20th century. The coat of arms was created by Prof. PhDr. Jozef Novák, DrSc., a well known Slovak heraldic. In this form the details are historically correct and it is also impressively artistic.

The village flag consists of four horizontal stripes in white, blue, red and green and has three pointed tips. The village symbols were approved by the Heraldic Commission of the Ministry of the Interior on June 13th 2000 under the signatory of Z- 39/2000.

The village seal originates from the Ždiar coat of arms which has been used since 1996. It shows two Saints with VILLAGE ŽDIAR written around them.
